GEWATER Primary School students have headed outdoors to start charting the Loddon River’s health.

Teacher Chris Guinane said students were busy learning about local water bugs and how they can help assess the health of waterways.

He said students last week enjoyed their first outdoor classroom session on the Loddon River.

“We collected water samples from the reed and surface zones and used magnifying glasses to identify and record the different water bugs that were present,” he said.
