Rising rinks: Young players show grit in decider
BRIDGEWATER’S Division 5 side put in a determined performance in Saturday’s Bendigo group grand final against Kangaroo Flat at Eaglehawk.

Battling through heavy greens after 23mm of rain fell overnight, all rinks opened evenly ,
Then Kangaroo Flat established a strong 29-shot margin by the bell.
Bridgewater refused to concede, launching a spirited comeback as the rinks skipped by Glenn Mangan and Curtis Mangan produced excellent second-half surges, finishing with a win and a draw respectively.
The club again showcased its emerging talent, with its four youngest bowlers—lead Lachlan Catto, thirds Jayden Leach and Tyler Eastader, and skip Curtis Mangan—delivering composed, high-quality games on the big stage.
Their performances under grand final pressure reinforced the promising future ahead for the Bridgewater club.
While the final result didn’t fall Bridgewater’s way, the effort, resilience and development on display mark a significant step forward for the club in its 90th year.
