Rhianon zips to early lead in rally championship
WEDDERBURN’S Rhianon Gelsomino is leading the American Rally Association after the first two rounds of the 2026 season.
THE co-driver and Subaru Motorsports USA partner Travis Pastrama have set up a handy lead in the championship.
“It’s an awesome way to start the year,” Gelsomino said. “To come out of the first two rallies leading the championship shows the work the whole team has put in.”
The experienced co-driver, who has competed around the world, credited the team effort behind the result.
“Rallying is never just about one or two people,” she said. “Everyone behind the scenes has been incredible, and Travis is driving at such a high level. It makes my job that much easier.”
Despite the strong start, Gelsomino remains focused on the bigger picture. “It’s early in the season, so we’re not getting ahead of ourselves,” she said. “But we’re in a great position, and we’ll keep pushing to build on it.”
From Wedderburn to the top of American rallying, Gelsomino continues to fly the flag on the world stage.
