JOHN Coffey hit the mark in Wimmera Axemen’s Association woodchop events at Rheola Charity Carnival.
The Inglewood teenager won the novice standing block event and was first in division two of the underhand competition.
His successes came on the eve of flying to Sydney as a member of the Victorian junior team competing at the Royal Easter Show.
It was a family affair for the Coffeys with father John also in the action. John senior is pictured below with Don Handsford, 83, who has not missed a Rheola woodchop in 60 years.
