Remembrance meeting with consul-general

EAST Loddon P12 College students preparing to visit Turkiye touring the battlefields of World War One have met with the country’s Victorian Consul-General.

Nine of the students were guests of the Shrine of Remembrance for last Tuesday’s Remembrance Day ceremony.

During the visit they met with Mr Dogan F. Isik ,who told them he was thrilled to hear of plans for travel to Turkiye in April.

The exchange students are continuing their fundraising efforts across Loddon communities ahead of the trip with local businesses strong with support.

It will be the third visit by East Loddon students to Turkiye following trips in 2015 and 2018 and hosting Turkish students in 2014 and 2016.

Then consul-general Arif Eser Torun visitied East Loddon two years ago describing the link between his country and the school as a miracle bond.
