The Redbacks put on 49 goals in return to continue their unbeaten start to the season.
Sea Lake managed just six goals in the second half of the match, with Wedderburn adding 25.
Paige Stephenson, who stepped up from B Grade, and wing defence Olivia Lockhart were named as the team’s best players on the day, but coach Meg Lowry said goal keeper Alice Hubbard and goal defence Maddi Postle were exceptional.
“They made nothing easy for Sea Lake and forced a lot of errors,” she said.
The win sees the Redbacks running away with the season, now three wins and about 70 per cent ahead of Boort and Birchip Watchem, although those teams have a game in hand.
Wedderburn now has two weeks off, with a league-wide bye preceding the round in which the Redbacks were due to meet St Arnaud, which has withdrawn from A Grade.
Lowry said the senior squad would continue training and possible have a scratch match during the extended break.
Boort, which didn’t play last Saturday due to St Arnaud’s withdrawal, is narrowly in front of the Bulls in the battle for second. The Magpies will have played only once in a month when they meet Charlton on June 13.
Just one game separates second and fifth on the ladder, with Calder United (one win and a draw) and winless Charlton adrift from the finals race as the competition pauses for its third bye of the year.
