Record entries received for art show opening on Friday
INTERSTATE artists have added to the growing reputation of Pyramid Hill’s annual Major’s Vision Art Show that opens next week.

Their works are among a record 360 entries that will go under the eye of judge Ian Tully.
Show organiser Terry Wood said the event’s reputation was attracting more artists each year.
“In just four years, we have established a competition and exhibition that showcases wonderful artists from across Victoria and now into New South Wales,” he said.
“The show gives artists at every stage of their artistic journey a platform to share their creations with appreciative and discerning audiences.
“Judges have consistently remarked on the high quality of entries across the range of genres that make up the show.
“From still life to portraits, landscapes and local scenes, the Major’s Vision art show is making a positive impact across regional Victoria and we hope Ian Tully is equally impressed.”
Mr Tully is director of Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery and was previously a lecturer in printmaking at La Trobe University Mildura.
Pyramid Hill’s show is organised through the town’s progress association and Mr Wood said sponsorship and support from local businesses had again ensured attractive prizemoney.
“We’re offering $9000 in total this year, putting us among the more lucrative shows in country Victoria.”
Winners of the competion will be announced at next Friday’s official opening.
