IT WAS excellent to see a large field of 31 players for the annual Carmody Shield competition at Pyramid Hill.

The course is in magnificent condition and we had many players travel from large distances to compete in the ambrose event.

Winners of the day, with a score of 72-13¼-58¾, were Jack Walters, Maree Ring, Tony Mullins and Ted Carmody.

Runners up, with a nett of 59, were Shane Carmody, Paddy Carmody and Matt Scott.

Nearest the pin on hole 16 was Jeanette Naylor (ladies) and Jason Deller (men).

The club thanks the Carmody family for organising the event and to the workers at the club for their efforts in maintaining the course.

The junior program continued into its second week with 16 participants. They are all developing their techniques and becoming more accurate and powerful.

All participants received a complimentary pair of sunglasses courtesy of Golf Australia.
