FITNESS instructor Sherryn O’Flaherty is driving community involvement across Boort for this month’s national Push Up Challenge and the town is backing her efforts in the opening days of the challenge.

Sherryn already has Amity Boort, the under 17 and reserves footballers, Boort District Health, the hockey club and Boort District School joining the initiative to put the spotlight on mental health.

The Boort Pushin for Better challenge aims to build on Sherryn’s fitness class participation last year.

“We picked up a few extras when the class took part last year and we thought, let’s go bigger and get the community involved,” Sherryn said.

“Supporting mental health initiatives is so important, especially after the last couple of years and the impact on everyone.

“I’ve also been in touch with businesses this week and hope they will join in too.”

Funds raised will support Lifeline, Movember and The Push for Better Foundation.
