PREMIER Daniel Andrews has quit as Victorian premier.He is currently addressing a media conference in Melbourne.

He had been premier since 2014 and led Labor to crushing victories in the last two elections.

While not nominating a likely successor, Mr Andrews had had Bendigo East MP Jacinta Allan as his deputy since last year.

Ms Allan is the member for Bendigo East that includes Loddon communities of Serpentine and Dingee.

The Premier has been under fire for not visiting areas of the Loddon where the Government has rammed through plans for 80-metre tall transmission towers under the VNI West proposal.
