DECADES of population decline have ended for the Loddon with today's Census figures showing an increase in people calling local communities home.
The figures show more than 7700 people in the shire last August local towns continue grow in size.
The Census result has been welcomed by Loddon Mayor Dan Straub.
He said the latest data backed council's vision of population and economic growth.
