Sir, My friend Pam Whitehouse gives me your paper to take home when I visit. I was born in Inglewood and lived in Bridgewater for many years before moving to Bendigo.
The content in the Loddon Herald is very interesting and relevant now.
I was particularly impressed with the poem by Indi Simpson (Loddon Herald, November 7). It was all that our ‘heroes” were during a terrible period of our country and is still occuring worldwide now.
So relevant. It makes you proud that there are still some young Australians who value the sacrifice the past and present service people have given.
The poem by Indi would be an apt reading throughout Australia at Anzac services. Perhaps you could suggest it to the Prime Minister and the Australian War Memorial in Canberra and in Melbourne and Sydney etc.
It is rare that something touches our hearts and souls and cover all our history, especially by someone so young.
I am keeping Indi’s poem. It touched me greatly.
