BOORT has stirred against the odds to kick 13 goals in today's North Central Football League match against Sea Lake Nandaly.

Already forced to have some juniors play two games and the season of skipper Kieran Wilson in doubt after injury in the opening round, the Pies had two more early setbacks in the seniors when ruckman Connor Dalgleish and club veteran Chris Hatcher left the ground injured.

But the match was not abandoned, contrary to some online reports after the match.

Official online scores had shown the final scoreline as Boort 0.0 to Sea Lake Nandaly 0.0.

Volunteers had planned to live score the match at Boort Park but when the livescoring stopped late in the first term, the online platform defaulted to a nil all draw and later misinterpretation from some commentators that the match had not been completed.

But quick phone calls during the game to Boort confirmed the match was progressing.

The final score was Boort 13.7 to Sea Lake Nandaly 22.18. Carlos Egan with three goals was among the best for the Pies.
