The Inglewood primary school staged a performance of Way of the Cross Liturgy yesterday in an act of prayer and reflection during Holy Week.

Students reenacted the final stages of Jesus’ journey before his crucifixion, bringing the story to life through a respectful and thoughtful performance.

The liturgy provided an opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of Holy Week and connect with the Gospel in a lived and meaningful way.

The addition of music and drumming created a solemn and moving atmosphere, enhancing the emotional impact of the performance and drawing the audience into the experience.

Principal Stephen O’Shannessy said: “It is important that students live out the Gospel teachings, and this is one way we can bring those teachings to life.”

He also acknowledged the efforts of the students, noting that they had shown great reverence throughout the preparation and were eager to share the experience with their families.

“Parents and friends gathered to support the students, helping to create a reflective and supportive atmosphere,” he said.

“The event formed a special part of the school’s Holy Week celebrations, bringing the community together in faith and reflection.”

Students had spent recent weeks rehearing the way of the Cross in what Mr O’Shannessy said had been a journey of learning.

The Holy Week celebrations also had a visit from the Easter Bunny for an Easter egg hunt on Monday.

The school community’s Easter egg raffle was drawn during the visit.
