Pies braced for the final chase
BOORT has risen to third on the North Central A Grade netball ladder without setting foot on the court last Saturday.

BOORT has risen to third on the North Central A Grade netball ladder without setting foot on the court last Saturday.
The Magpies had a bye, with their scheduled clash against St Arnaud abandoned, but they climbed ahead of Sea Lake Nandaly after the Tigers were thumped at home by unbeaten Wedderburn.
The Redbacks were untroubled to win by 36 goals against Sea Lake in another dominant performance by Meg Lowry’s team.
The hit to the Tigers’ percentage saw them drop behind Boort by more than five per cent, with three rounds to play.
Boort faces winless Charlton on Saturday but then plays the two teams chasing it on the ladder, Donald and Sea Lake Nandaly in the final two weeks.
The last fortnight will decide the make up of the top four, with Calder United also a chance to reach the finals despite being second last on the ladder.
Both Donald and Calder are half a game behind Boort and Seal Lake after drawing earlier in the season.
Wedderburn is four games ahead of Birchip Watchem on top, and there seems to be little prospect of the Redbacks dropping a match this season, such is their superiority over the rest of the competition.
They held Sea Lake to just 25 goals, including scoring 14 to three in the first quarter, and 18 to five in the final term, on the way to a total of 61.
Wedderburn’s best players were hard to choose in an even team performance.
But club awards went to wing attack Paige Ryan, goal keeper Alice Hubbard and goal attack Holly Lockhart.
