Telephone assisted voting will be available to voters who are blind or have low vision, and those people with a physical disability that prevents them from attending a voting centre; the service opens at 9 am on November 14 and runs through to 6 pm on November 26.

In addition, Victorian voters in designated flood affected areas determined by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) will be permitted to vote by phone from 19 November 2022, during the State election early voting period.

The VEC says it must make a formal determination to permit those impacted by floods in designated areas occurring on, or after Thursday 13 October, and who are unable to access a voting centre from Saturday 19 November to 6 pm on Saturday 26 November to access telephone assisted voting.

The VEC is continuing to monitor the disruptions caused by the floods and will consult with Emergency Management Victoria to identify the areas that will remain affected as election day approaches. The designated areas will be published by the VEC in the coming weeks.

Voters will need to make a declaration that they are residing in a place that has been impacted by the floods and are unable to travel to or access a voting centre.
