Panthers face switch fight
Marong is in the box seat to be the first Loddon Valley league club to step up into the Bendigo league while Maiden Gully has already fallen at the first hurdle.

The four-time reigning premiers failed to gain the backing from more than third-thirds of Loddon Valley league clubs on Monday night.
According to well-placed football sources this morning, at least four Loddon Valley clubs voted against Marong's bid that had earlier been approved by the Bendigo league.
It is believed that Bendigo last week accepted Marong's application but rejected the bid by Maiden Gully.
All 10 Loddon Valley clubs voted on the fate of Marong with at least four opposing the transfer and prepare to appeal Bendigo's decision.
A statemenmt is expected to be made by the Bendigo league today.
Both Marong and Maiden are being contacted for comment.
