Only just been told, says Haylett of childcare cash grab

RIPON MP Martha Haylett says she was in the dark on allocation of the Federal Government commitment towards the cost of building the State Government’s new Wedderburn Early Learning that opened this month.

Asked when she was made aware of the decision, Ms Haylett on Tuesday said: “The Federal Government have only just advised me that their funding commitment for childcare in the Loddon Shire will be going towards the new Wedderburn early learning centre.”

“I am so proud to have helped deliver childcare in Wedderburn, but I know we need more options for families in Inglewood and Bridgewater too.”

“I will continue advocating to the Federal Government for more childcare centres across the Loddon Shire.

“Their $1 billion childcare building fund should be spent on new centres in our area.”
