BREAKING
AUSTRALIAN Energy Market Operator overnight has published on its website a new Option 5A for its VNI West connector that will see 80-metre high towers across the Loddon.
The new option shows the same "identified land of interest" between St Arnaud and Wedderburn but then alters course from Wedderburn through Boort and Pyramid Hill.
However, AEMO has made no announcement of its third change of route in less than 12 months.
On its website, AEMO says:
"
We recently undertook six weeks of community and stakeholder consultation on alternate options in Victoria, including where VNI West links to WRL. Communities urged AVP to undertake this additional work and it provided an opportunity to broaden our understanding of what matters to communities in the broad area of interest for VNI West.
In total,533 submissionswere received in response to the additional Consultation Report, 519 of which have been published on AEMO’s website (14 submitters requested confidentiality). A large number of submissions (491) were received from concerned landowners and other community members. The remainder were received from councils, community organisations, environmental groups and consumer representatives.
A summary of the feedback received and our response to key themes can be found in PACR Volume 2: Additional Consultation Report Submissions."
That information has not been published yet by AEMO
An AEMO spokesman said:We had a ‘tech’ glitch with our website and apologise. We’re still working towards publishing the final report, submissions and information on next steps (consultation, compensation, land access, etc)."
