DR MAX Higgs last week received life membership of Inglewood and Districts Health Service at the hospital where he was born.
He joins mother Betty who received the service’s top honour two years ago.
Board deputy chair Anne-Marie Davis said Dr Higgs provided exceptional medical care and dedicated his time and expertise to the community during an impressive 26-year tenure.
“Dr Higgs’ professional journey with IDHS began in 1990 when he joined as a general medical practitioner after spending five years as a GP in Wedderburn. He was an integral part of the hostel development committee and contributed to the growth and improvement of the health service.”
Dr Higgs continues to practice as a locum around Australia.
