TIME for a lifestyle change for Wedderburn Newsagency owners Leanne and Mal Burge will see the couple sell their last newspapers and magazines this weekend.
Leanne said that after 16 years of early morning starts, and unable to sell the business, the newsagency part of their store would transfer to 24 Karat Cafe.
“The time has come for us to have a change in lifestyle. We’ve enjoyed the friendship and connection with customers and will continue see our many friends.”
From Monday, newspaper and magazine sales in Wedderburn will be at the 24 Karat Cafe. Owner Julie Benaim said: “Leanne and Mal have been fantastic over the last 16 years and we couldn’t see our town without a newsagancy.
“While Monday will be out first day selling newspapers and the main spot to pick up the free Loddon Herald every Thursday, we know customers will be understanding while we learn the ropes of selling newspapers,” Julie said.
The Loddon Herald distribution network has also been extended with copies now available every week at Kerang News-agency.
