Inglewood's Gabe Nevins was won the Loddon Valley league under 18 best and fairest,

He won the Stephen Dowling Memorial Medal from Bridgewater's Toby Naughton.

Nevins is the eighth Inglewood player to win the award named after Stephen who played his junior football with Inglewood before graduating to the senior side in 1978, where he showed great promise. In 1979, as an 18-year-old, he finished 5th in the club’s best & fairest count.

In September, 1979, Stephen died in tragic circumstances.
