THE special bond between Inglewood Primary School students and Inglewood and District Health Services hostel residents means they know what the other likes.
So after raising more than $500 selling muffins earlier this year as part of a community service project, five students quickly made the call to purchase art and cooking equipment for residents.
Bowls, spoons, brushes and artpaper were purchased with the help of teacher Rebecca Luckman to present to residents.
“What an amazing afternoon we had at the hostel today ... we got to give them $500 worth of products from our community projects and then spent the rest of the time doing science experiments together,” Mrs Luckman said.
Residents take part in weekly art and cooking sessions and said the new supplies would be well used.
The money was raised when students made 475 muffins in March for sale at their pop-up stall in the Inglewood IGA foyer.
Customers snapped up the muffins within a few hours.
“Our students love their visits to the hostel so much,” Mrs Luckman said.
