INGLEWOOD’S Monday pennant teams continue to lead the way with Division 1 taking a six- shot win against South Bendigo.
Inglewood’s weekend pennant teams are still to greet the judge.
In Monday pennant, Division 4 came up against a strong South Bendigo team this week but went down fighting to lose by 33 shots.
Next week they visit Calivil with determination to do well as currently fifth on the ladder.
Final scores: Inglewood 44 (0pts) defeated South Bendigo 77 (16pts).
Best rink on the day was Betty Gath, Dionne Roberts, Pam Kelly, Bev Taig(skip) to only lose by six shots.
In Division 1 everyone was at their best on the same day and they came home with a hard-fought win over South Bendigo.
It was the first time members can remember having beaten them in Monday pennant.
One rink dropped eight shots on one end and fought back strongly to gain a draw.
Final Scores: Inglewood 64 shots (13pts) defeated South Bendigo 58 shots (3pts)
Best rink on the day were Bruce McClymont, Daniel Garrett, Denis Wilson and Ian Chamberlain
(Skip) with a 10-win shot win.
In weekend pennant. Division 5 travelled to Campbells Creek with a lot of players missing and put in a great performance to only lose by eight shots and to also have two rink wins.
They are home to Castlemaine
this Saturday and not without a chance here.
Final scores: Inglewood 62 shots (4 pts) defeated by Cambells Creek 70 shots (14 pts).
Best rink on the day were Edna Patterson, Sub (from White Hills), Kath McNaught and Ian Bradley (Skip) with a seven-shot victory.
Division 1 came up against an Eaglehawk team that were far more consistent which showed up in the result as they had a 30 shot win.
The next two games are very crucial as Inglewood attempt to consolidate our position in Division 1 up against Bendigo and Kangaroo Flat who are also still to win a game.
Final scores: Inglewood 71 shots (2pts) defeated by Eaglehawk 91 shots (16pts).
Best rink on the day were Robert Stranger, Chris McEwan, Bruce McClymont and Ian Chamberlain
(Skip) with good 10-shot victory.
BRIDGEWATER
The Division 5 side played at home to South Bendigo in breeze conditions which made it difficult for both teams to adjust.
At the half time bell Bridgewater held a three-shot lead with all rinks fairly even overall.
The home side held sway to finish with a four-shot win with Allan Harrison’s rink being the best preforming rink on the day.
The Goldfields side travelled to play Dunolly Gold in very blustery conditions and lost both rinks by nine shots each on the day
It was great to see improvement of newest bowlers in Tom Ryan and Ray Simons who contiue to get more consistent every week
