State Emergency Services crews were this evening making precautionary patrols as the Loddon River remains at a moderate flood levels.

The Newbridge Recreation Reserve camp ground remains closed, water earlier this morning lapping the tennis and netball courts.

Campers at a river site near Newbridge had to be winched to safety this morning after water surrounded their vehicle.

Bridgewater Caravan Park is also closed and the river walking track barricade with water above the path.

The Bureau of Meteorology said this evening that moderate flooding is occurring along the Loddon River Laanecoorie to Loddon Weir.

The Loddon River downstream of Laanecoorie Reservoir peaked at 5.68 metres around 10am Saturday and is currently at 5.39 metres and falling, with moderate flooding.

The Loddon River downstream of Laanecoorie Reservoir is expected to remain above the moderate flood level (3.00 m) overnight Saturday into Sunday.
