MITIAMO youngster Joey Mizzi is a chance to play this week despite suffering an injury against Inglewood on Saturday that caused the game to be abandoned in the third quarter.

Mizzi, the Superoos’ best player this season, was hurt in a contest and there were concerns about his neck.

He was stabilised on the field by physios while waiting for an ambulance.

The game was halted for more than 30 minutes before Mizzi was taken to hospital, and did not resume.

Under AFL Victoria rules, Inglewood was awarded the win because play stopped after half-time with the Woodies leading 13.9 (87) to 6.0 (36).

Remarkably, Mizzi has had the all-clear from doctors, has not suffered concussion and will make a call late this week on whether to play against Pyramid Hill.

Coach Luke Lougoon will miss a third game with a hamstring injury as the Superoos look for their first win for the season.
