Minister will give response
HEALTH and Ambulance Services Minister Harriet Shing will respond to Wedderburn Development Association’s call for her to review the decision to axe the new ambulance station for the town.
HEALTH and Ambulance Services Minister Harriet Shing will respond to Wedderburn Development Association’s call for her to review the decision to axe the new ambulance station for the town.
However, the minister’s spokesperson did not indicate whether the reply would expand on earlier State Government responses that it would continue to review services in the region.
Community campaigner for the station Darryl Arnott said questions remained on the decision.
“When a new CEO at Ambulance Victoria was appointed, things changed and plans for the new station were stopped. Was it the new CEO’s decision and why?” he said.
“The question that should be asked is why the Government allowed this to happen and has not intervened to overthrow this bad decision.
“The minister needs to get all parties involved to meet and get this sorted out - I’m talking about all groups from the minister, government representatives, Loddon Shire, Ambulance Victoria reps, paramedics, Wedderburn ACO group and all concerned citizens.
“Then we would know who is for or against this required Ambulance Station because no one group has yet said they have opposed this,” Mr Arnott said.
