Meeting next week will decide appeal
THE AFL Central Victoria regional council will meet next Wednesday to consider the Loddon Valley league’s appeal against Marong’s proposed move to the Bendigo competition.

THE AFL Central Victoria regional council will meet next Wednesday to consider the Loddon Valley league’s appeal against Marong’s proposed move to the Bendigo competition.
The Bendigo league last month approved the Panthers’ request to transfer from the Loddon Valley next year, but a clear majority of Loddon clubs opposed that decision and launched an appeal.
Bendigo accepted Marong’s application but denied Maiden Gully’s, leaving the Eagles to remain in the LVFNL next year.
The Bendigo and Loddon Valley leagues have until next Monday to file final submissions to the independent regional council.
Both leagues have already made initial submissions that have been shared with the other party.
Maiden Gully has signalled that it will apply again next year for a transfer to Bendigo.
Marong has not indicated what it will do if Loddon Valley’s appeal is successful and the Panthers are forced to stay in that competition next season, however it is considered likely that the club would seek again to transfer.
