ROHAN McHugh has had a tough start after stepping in to coach West Coast’s AFLW side for the final two rounds of the season.
The former Wedderburn junior premiership coach and North Central league representative saw the Eagles go down by a heart-breaking eight points against bottom side Western Bulldogs at the weekend.
McHugh had been assistant coach to Michael Prior who resigned last week after winning two games for the season.
He moved to Western Australia and became a PE Teacher at SEDA from 2015 to 2018 before moving to Western Australian Institute of Sport to work in athlete well-being and engagement.
McHugh continued his coaching with West Coast Amateur Football Club winning a premiership in 2021 and became the Eagles’ head coach of academies and assistant coach of the women’s side.
The Eagles play their final game of the AFL season against second-placed Adelaide Crows on Sunday.
