Marmal sneaks home on games in tense grand final
MARMAL has taken out the Boort Lawn Tennis Club premiership in a thrilling finish to the season.
After two tight matches in the semi finals, ladder leaders Marmal lined up against Barraport last Friday evening..
Players battled it out as the light grew less and more lights were turned on in order to keep their eyes on the ball.
In a very close game, and even though they won more sets, Barraport lost to Marmal by a game. Club championships were played over the weekend.
Women’s doubles: Kelly Durie and Kellie Hare. Men’s doubles:Jared Wilkinson and Greg Bear.
Mixed doubles: Kellie Hare and Jared Wilkinson.
Men’s singles: Luke Boyd. Meadows Cup: Abby Potter.
The club is now preparing for its annual tournament over the Easter weekend.
