Man with the major vision revels in opening
TERRY Wood says it’s the best idea ever - creating a show where artists can display their works, engaging a communty and promoting the region.

The man behind Pyramid Hill’s Major’s Vision Art Show on Friday night was thanked for his vision and drive establishing the show four years ago.
Progress association president Drew Chislett presented Terry with a special certificate of appreciation during the opening and announcement of winners for 2026.
Terry assembled a group of fellow volunteers to run the first show and said an anonymous donation of $10,000 “had given us the basis to launch the show”.
He said the show’s success had been seen in the number of entries and the economic boost it brought to the town. The 2025 show had seen one business increase turnover 50 per cent during show week.
Terry has indicated he will step back as a key organiser but, according to Mr Chislett, the impact of an idea and the contribution to establishing what is now regarded as one of regional Victoria’s leading art shows will continue.
Art show judge Terry Tully echoed Terry’s observations on the importance of art to local economies.
And he said the social wellbeing of communities rode on art.
“The arts are that salve for disaster and trauma,” he said.
“The arts is a serious economic driver right across the country. The arts industry is enormous.”
