A PYRAMID Hill man has been found alive after fire destroyed his weatherboard home on Saturday night.

Police and local residents had spent the night searching for the man who was seen wandering from the Railway Place fire soon after the alarm was raised justed after 8pm. A police chopper was part of the search.

Reports this morning say the man was found and had suffered some burns to his face and hands.

The fire came as hundreds of people were in nearby Kelly Street for the town's Christmas street party.
