MACEY Holland is one of 20 young Australians announced this week as recipients of a Horizon Scholarship to develop the next generation of rural leaders.
From Serpentine, Macey is studying a bachelor of agriculture at the University of Melbourne.
Scholarship recipients will each receive $10,000 over their final two years of study.
“When I finish my degree, I am interested in pursuing a career involving trade and sustainable resource management,” Macey said.
“However, I am also really passionate about building relationships between rural and metropolitan communities.
“A main goal of mine is to educate those who are not familiar with farming or farm-related practises and promote the agriculture industry with honesty and transparency.”
Macey was excited at being named a Horizon scholar.
