LYNETTE Clark is among the top women’s competition badminton players in Australasia after last week’s Atalanta tournament in Ballarat.
The Boort veteran raquet sport player was a member of the Melbourne-based team to take honours in the 39th running of the event for women playing in mid-week competitions around Australia and New Zealand.
Lynette was one of a handful of players given dispensation to compete, their local competitions not having women’s mid-week associations.
A regular at the Atalanta tournament since 1990, Lynette said she had only missed five years of the international event.
“We were beaten in the opening game by Port Augusta, the only game we lost for the week and it was Port Augusta we beat in the final,” Lynette said.
The Thornybirds defeated Port August 6-1 to win the D2 final.
