Luncheon date with riders honouring life of Carter

RESTORED postie bikes will be parked at Boort Park at lunch time Monday as riders make a final Victoria stop on the first day of Carter’s Legacy Rinde.
The fundraising ride for Boort District Hospital has been organised by Ben and Lori Keeble in honour of their son Carter who died in a tragic January 2025 caravan fire while holidaying with family in the town.
Ben and his mates have restored postie bikes for a 2500km ride to the Boulia Camel Races in Queensland, raising funds for the health service.
“BDH has been very good to us, incredible since day one with endless support over the last 12 months,” Lori said earlier this year.
“We are very thankful. We want this to be Carter’s legacy of helping people.”
Ben and Lori have organised many fundraising functions over the last six months and a special Boort raffle will be drawn during Monday’s lunch stop.
They said it would be a chance for local residents to meet the riders.
Among the first donations was one from the Boort Ski Club
Lori has said they wanted to continue Carter’s legacy ride into a second year.
“Our intention is to do it again and return our thanks with support for the CFA,” she said. “Anything we can do to help.”
Ben and Lori said the ride would both honour Carter and give thanks to a supportive community for its help.
