Low allocation to start the next irrigation season
A THREE per cent high-reliability water share will open the Loddon system’s 2026-2027 determination.

A THREE per cent high-reliability water share will open the Loddon system’s 2026-2027 determination.
Irrigators were told by Resource Manager Mark Bailey last week that improvements expected from forecast July rainfall would be factored into an update to be released next week.
The Campaspe irrigation district has been given an opening share of 35 per cent, Murray 29 per cent, Goulburn 15 per cent while no allocations have been made for the Broken and Bullarook systems.
“Inflows to many of the major storages during June were close to the long term average. The additional water in storage is important because reserves for 2026-2027 were low at the end of autumn.
“While there have been improvements in the storages in the Broken and Bullarook systems, more rain and more inflow is needed before seasonal determinations can be made for the two systems.”
There is a low spill risk for the Goulburn.
