Local faces can join board
HEALTH services have started their annual recruitment rounds for board positions across the region.

Boort District Health and Inglewood and Districts Health Services are among agencies calling for people to step up and be part of local decision making.
For Inglewood’s Ann-Marie Davis, board recruitment is an opportunity that can put more local faces on the board.
She is one of just two district residents on the current board. Ann-Marie is into her second three-year term and became deputy chair earlier this year, Suzie Birthisel was appointed in July.
“The health services is very important to the wellbeing and future of our district and its residents,” Ann-Marie said.
“While Suzie and I are the only ‘local faces’ on the board at the moment, we really encourage people with skills and passion for the future of the IDHS to consider putting themselves forward and helping our communities.”
Ann-Marie said IDHS continued to expand both the services it offered and the service area.
“In recent years we have seen the opening of the new gymnasium and the $5 million upgrade of the emergency and acute care wing of the hospital is well underway,” she said.
Suzie said: “The induction procedure for new board members is thorough and engaging.
“As one of the recent appointments, being on the board has been a great experience and it is a way to contribute and support the great work IDHS does in our communities,” she said.
Current board members whose term expires next June are Susan Hurly, Robert Porter and Karen Corr who this week was elected deputy mayor of the City of Greater Bendigo.
Board appointments are made by the Health Minister.
