I WILL have to sharpen my pen this week, as the great Gary Walsh picked the sweep last week and left me in the dust. Newbridge makes the trip up the Wimmer Highway to Marong to take on the Panthers at home, with both sides coming off good wins last week. Newbridge, a little too slick for the Bears with their ground speed at home, will be tested against the Panthers, whose midfield is just as quick, with Gadsden and Co. probably being the difference. Bridgewater travels over the prairie plains to play Mitiamo at Windy Flats central and should get the chocolates in second gear. The not-so-grumpy Bears host a Pyramid Hill side who are playing a good brand of footy at the moment and should get the four points at the Bear Cave. Calivil hosts the Macorna Tigers at Rodeo Park and is a chance to get the points this week. The Tigers must win to keep their finals aspirations alive after a strong start to the season and will get home by 10 points. Last game this week is Maiden Gully taking on an improving Inglewood at the Camel Hump arena. This will be a tricky game for the Blues as the Eagles are definitely a much-improved outfit from last year. At the final siren the Blues should get home by less than three goals.
