BRADLEY of Boort has been out cracking the jokes again, all very seasonal. One really does hope he didn’t have a bout of the sneezes when erecting this week’s sign ... the force may have sent him hurtling to the ground.
IT’S not only sneezes that spring up in ... ah, spring. There’s also the sun sending its searing ways through bigger in the cloud cover above. Makes birthday presents easy - can’t go past a good bucket hat to keep the head protected in summer. That’s the caring gift received last week by one famous local sporting mum. And keeping her reputation intact, the bucket hat pays perpetual homage to a certain team of premiership netballers - their trademark celebratory cuisine of donuts are front and centre on the hat. Another good thing about bucket hats at the moment? They help keep swooping magpies away from, well, other magpies.

HOW many sneezes in a day is normal? According to some medical researchers, Sneezing more than once is very normal. Sometimes it just takes more for you to clear an irritant from your nose. One study found that about 95 per cent of people sneeze about four times a day. Another bit of research says the majority of people (59 per cent) sneeze on average (mean) less than once daily, while 31 per cent sneeze once or more times but less than four times a day.
THE good old word association, evolution game was in full swing among a group enjoying the beautiful spring weather at the weekend. Blue liquid became rocket fuel and ended up being carpet cleaner. Not sure how it started, but sure as anything, laughter sprung out loud.
HALLOWEEN seems so long ago (only just over a week). OTF wanted to see what a fun-loving lot the parents were who put together treasure hunt courses in some towns. And a very speciaL shout out to the Wedderburn ‘witches’ - members of the Country Women’s Association who ditched their scones and cakes to hand out sweet treats to youngsters. Loved their costumes too.
HEAR young Curtis may have been tempted to head off to nearby Hay Australia the other day armed with a metal detector - looking for a lost phone. He refused to say who’s phone had gone missing but talk about looking for a needle in a haystack! Now that would have had anyone sneezing the night away.
BRADLEY’S PUMPKIN PROJECT
MY first pumpkin baby “Good Gourd” has started growing up. I think she maybe the most photographed and pampered pumpkin plant around. Good Gourd moved into her own bedroom, sleeping in a well tended bed that has been carefully infused with ingredients for her maximum growth. She may be a little lonely until her pumpkin siblings are big enough to move into their own beds next door. I’m looking forward to watching Good Gourd stretch her vines out, growing up to one metre per day until she covers her whole bed. Paddle on until you become the boat you were always meant to be.
