TED BRADLEY reckons he still remembers the first goal kicked by Inglewood after the club moved to its present ground beside the Calder Highway.
And he’s still a bit cranky that his dad wouldn’t let him play for the seniors that day. Ted’s father reckoned 13 was too young to play with the big boys. When he did play, Ted appeared in five premiership teams for the Blues in the 1950s and also won the club best and fairest award in 1957.
A member of the Inglewood Team of the Century, and with one end of the ground named for him and his family, he was thrilled to see the Woodies win on their celebratory day.
Ted, at 93 years of age, was also proud to be there with his son Colin to buy a copy of the Inglewood Immortals book, in which he featured.
He has been on this Earth for almost two-thirds of the footy club’s existence, a testament to his longevity and to his family’s connection to Inglewood, with his grandfather playing in the Woodies’ first premiership team in 1895.
