Kristen’s prized brush with winning subject

LAKE Boga artist Kristen Cowland has caught up her award-winning subject Paul Haw to share success in the Boortrait competition.

Kristen was among dozens of artists to enter Boortrait as part of this month’s Loddon Valley Arts Trail, capturing Boort identities on canvas or in photographs.

Her painting has Paul surrounded by Aboriginal scar trees on Lake Boort.

Paul has established Yung Balug Aboriginal Artefacts Museum at his home overlooking the lake.

“The arts trail weekend was a real success around Boort and the Boortrait competition saw many great locals have their image captured for the occasion,” Paul said.

“Kristen is a talented artists and I was honoured she chose to paint me.”
