Just Brill! Defender impresses in final pre-season hitout
PYRAMID Hill completed its football and netball season preparations with games on Saturday as part of the club’s annual charity practice match series.

The late withdrawal of Koondrook Barham caused a reshuffle of the schedule of matches, which are played to raise funds for the local fire brigade.
The Bulldogs’ footballers played one quarter against Sea Lake Nandaly before facing Kerang in a four-quarter clash.
The Pyramid Hill senior netballers played North Central’s Charlton in the morning.
Club officials contacted clubs in 15 different leagues in the hope of replacing Koondrook Barham but was unsuccessful.
In the end, some clubs were asked to play an extra quarter, so all the teams involved had a proper hit out.
It meant Wandella played four quarters against Moulamein and then another term against Sea Lake Nandaly, and Pyramid Hill had a quarter against the Tigers before taking on Kerang.
Many of the Bulldogs’ senior footballers were unavailable, but recruit Isaac Brill, who joined the Bulldogs from Strathmore in the off-season, impressed in a role off half-back.
Brill, who played with Woodville West Torrens is the SANFL before moving to Melbourne a few years ago, showed his interception skills and used the ball extremely well.
He also took a spectacular mark to highlight his all-round ability.
Veteran Ben Knight picked up possessions at will, but often his delivery by foot was awry.
Highly talented youngster Xavier Emmerson, who is in the elite Bendigo Pioneers squad, was also prominent.
Sea Lake Nandaly dominated the quarter it played against Pyramid Hill, having warmed up against Wandella.
However, the undermanned Bulldogs also struggled against Kerang, especially late in the game as players tired.
Netball coach Chelsea Emmerson said returning centre Imogen Broad was outstanding against the Navy Blues.
Broad is back with Pyramid Hill after a season at Macorna, which played in the Golden Rivers league before moving this year to the Loddon Valley competition
While at Macorna, Broad won the club’s A Grade best-and-fairest award and finished fifth in the league best and fairest.
