REIGNING Loddon Valley premiers Marong are through to the grand final after being more than challenged on the field and the scoreboard by Pyramid Hill in today's second semi-final.

The Panthers actually surrendered the lead at one stage and only found breathing space in the final 15 minutes of the fourth quarter.

Their goal gun Brandyn Grenfell was held to just four goals and as many behinds. The Pyramid Hill defence relentless all day, Bryden Morison among the best.

Brodie Carroll kicked four for the Bulldogs while Dylan Collis and Billy Micevski were key in the biggest challenge Marong has faced since being knocked off by the Bulldogs in round four 2022.

Richard Tibbett had a dominance at bounces, thowins and around the ground for Marong, often dashing out of defence
