In for long haul, Finlay makes marathon mark
FINLAY Arnold will tackle a 14.4km marathon across Melbourne’s Bolte Bridge on Sunday.
And for a lighter outing, the Boort District School VCE student will run the 10km Ballarat Marathon on Anzac Day.
His next distance targets follow a successful week on the Gold Coast last week representing Victoria at School Sports Australia National Aquathlon.
Finlay finished fourth in two of the relays and 15th overall for the championships four days of swim-run races and team relays.
Guiding Finlay in his marathon quest is former Boort resident Jason Sim, giving supp[ort from overseas and catches up with the teenager with back in Australia..
Finlay raced the recent Shepparton Triathlon and won in its first triathlon. He also contested the 2XU Triathlon Sandringham, finishing ninth in the 15–19 age group.
