Hunt begins to assemble new team running major tourist drawcard
CRAIG Fuller has answered the call to head up Wedderburn Tourism Association and is now calling for volunteers to join the team behind the town’s major annual event.
CRAIG Fuller has answered the call to head up Wedderburn Tourism Association and is now calling for volunteers to join the team behind the town’s major annual event.
Current association leaders Robyn Vella and Karen Fazzani announced before the Wedderburn Detector Jamboree in March that this was their final year at the helm.
For more than a decade, they have steered the association in staging the Labor Day weekend event.
“I’ll steer the ship as best I can although will I clearly need help,” Craig said when putting out the call to be part of the new team ahead of next month’s association annual general meeting.
Craig, owner of the Wedderburn Hotel, has outlined a series of initiatives for the association in the future.
He has already teamed with Tine Raewyn to launch a regular market, the first planned for the Loddon Valley Arts Trail weekend in October.
He says the eucalyptus stewpot at Hard Hill Reserve, site of the jamboree, could also be ujsed for production, bottling and retailing of local eucalyptus oil.
