How can we help? Community turns out for clean-up duties
GRATITUDE for Loddon’s volunteer firefighters took a practical turn last week when the Inglewood brigade started cleaning tankers and vehicles that had been on the Harcourt fire ground.

Captain Andrew Smith said the brigade had been inundated with messages of thanks.
“When they offered to drop in thank yous, we say no. Come along to the station and help us clean the vehicles,” he said.
That’s what happened last Wednesday when vehicles from Inglewood and Tarnagulla brigades were washed and cleaned after spending up to five days at the fire.
Truck cabins were vacuumed and windows shined while hoses and brushes worked overtime removing grit and ash.
Mr Smith said: “It was a practical way for people to express their appeciation to the brigades and our volunteers”.
The turnout was a reminder that the brigade had strong backing from the community, Mr Smith said.
