VicEmergency has issued a community information update for a haystack fire ay Leaghur.

Issued at 8.39pm Wednesday, the alert says:

This Community Information is being issued for Appin South, Barraport, Canary Island, Lake Meran, Leaghur, Meering West, Minmindie .

- There is a haystack fire at Boort-Kerang Rd, Leaghur. - Haystack fires are not likely to spread into grassland but do generate a lot of smoke. - Firefighters are attending to this fire. - This fire may continue to burn for a number of days. - Smoke will be visible from nearby roads and communities.

There is no immediate threat to the community and no action is required
