Labor's Martha Haylett has extended her lead of Liberal incumbent Louise Staley as counting in Ripon continues, more than a week after the state election.
Ms Haylett on figures released Saturday night is ahead by 2119 votes and holds a 2.73 per cent lead over Ms Staley.
Her lead comes from early and absentee votes.
It is believed a large batch of absentee votes favouring Ms Haylett were made at the Wendouree early voting centre. However, because the VEC did not have a Ripon early voting centre in Ballarat, those votes were taken to Melbourne for counting.
More than 81 per cent of the vote in Ripon has now been counted.
