RIPON MP Martha Haylett says she is not spooked by latest polling showing the government of Premier Jacinta Allan is facing a wipeout at November’s state election.
RIPON MP Martha Haylett says she is not spooked by latest polling showing the government of Premier Jacinta Allan is facing a wipeout at November’s state election.
Ms Haylett and Regional Development Minister Michaela Settle both backed the embattled member for Bendigo East during their visit to Newbridge yesterday.
Ms Settle said: “She (the Premier) is probably the most hard-working person I have ever had the honour to work alongside.
“She works hard every day to try and find new and practical ways that we can support the community through what we all know (are) tough times - the fuel and fertiliser issues particularly felt in regional areas,”
Ms Haylett said: “Polls ... come out all the time, what we have to do is as MPs focus on delivery and focus on every single day working hard for our communities.”
“The people will decide come in November and you know, every four years we are up for you know, for a new job.
“And I look forward to working with the communities across London Shire to deliver more for them between now and the election,” Ms Haylett said.
Ms Haylett said she “absolutely” supported the Premier leading the Government’s to the November 28 election.
Labor’s primary vote has dived to 23 per cent with the Coalition 27 per cent, and One Nation 25 per cent, according to a Freshwater Strategy poll this week.
