Martha Haylett this morning remains favoured to win Ripon from Liberal frontbencher Louise Staley.
Ms Haylett, a former adviser to Premier Daniel Andrews and a public housing advocate, is leading the vote for Labor with 52.29 per cent as pre-poll and postal votes are now being counted.
On figures this morning, Ms Haylett continues to win the early voting centre count however, Ms Staley has picked up 1814 of 1272 votes so far. Just over 64 per cent of the vote has been counted
The notional margin heading into the election was 2.8 per cent Labor following a redistribution.
Ms Staley has held the seat since 2014.
Neither Ms Haylett or Ms Staley have spoken yet on the result.
